Genealogy Notes for Today 4 August, 2011

Well, well, well.  It would appear that there was a genealogical link missing in our Dyer family line.  If William and Mary Dyer had two sons, one of them may not have been the William Dyer who married Mary Taylor.  He may have actually been their grandson through Samuel Dyer.  If this is true (and a researcher from the New England Genealogical Society thinks so. . .) than the William Dyer we have on our pedigree chart is the son of Samuel and his wife Anne Hutchinson.  She is the daughter of Edward Hutchinson who is the son of William Hutchinson and Anne Marbury Hutchinson.

If this new link is true, than we pick up some new and interesting characters for the pedigree chart.  This line descends from the Dryden Family of England which produced John Dryden, the famous poet laurete of England, Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels, the Spencer family, which would make the Connells distant cousins of George Washington, Franklin Roosevelt, and the Bushes Jr. and Sr.

This one new line could provide many interesting searches!
